Valentines for Veterans 2024

Middleridge showered our veterans with love on Feb. 10th during the MCA’s annual Valentines for Veterans.

The Valentines for Veterans effort is a small token of our gratitude for the duty, honor, and sacrifice selflessly given by our local veterans. This cherished event received almost 900 valentines that were lovingly crafted by our residents, scouts, and children of various participating Fairfax County public schools. Cub and Girl Scouts assisted in delivering valentine packages to Middleridge’s 145 local veterans.

A wholehearted thank you to all who helped honor the service of our vets by either volunteering, making valentines, donating candy, preparing gift bags, donating wagons, or donating scout refreshments. This event would not be possible without the participation of wonderful neighbors like you!

Many thanks to the following MCA neighbors for helping :

A special thanks to Maryn Simon, our Fairfax County public schools liaison and ribbon curler extraordinaire; Karrie Kay, who was instrumental in organizing delivery wagons; Suheyla Lasky, our Bonnie Brae liaison, and Bonnie Brae Assistant Principal Natalie Vershaw; the MCA Board members: John Bayer, John Tedrick, and Niamh Minus; Maureen Campbell, along with the MCA Block Captains and Section Leaders; and Scout leaders Bryon Burks and Christine Maxwell.
