Perfect Pet Parade

“Every dog must have his day” as the saying goes, and on Saturday, May 6th, lots of dogs had their day! The weather was perfect for our Middleridge Pet Parade. Dogs and their humans from Middleridge and FCE proudly marched in the parade from the top of Broadwater Drive all the way into Middleridge Park where prizes were awarded in different categories. Our esteemed judges, Supervisor Walkinshaw, Delegate Bulova, and MCA Vice President Bayer, presented some winning pups fantastic giftbags from Weber’s Pet Supermarket while the rest of the pups were awarded Target giftcards so they can take their humans on doggy treat spending sprees!

Congratulations Winners

Youngest Dog: Aspen (John and Rhaiany Tedrick),
Oldest Dog: Gracie (The Dixon Family),
Loudest Dog: Jake (The Heintz Family),
Most Well-Behaved: Kota (John and Kathy Tedrick),
Best Trick: Olive (The Lopresti Family),

Thank you very much to the Pet Parade Planning Committee: Maryn Simon, John Bayer, Nicole Gonzalez, Suheyla Lasky, and Kathy Rushlow. In addition, thank you to our fabulous Neighborhood Watch crew: Jerry Reynolds, Bob Franklin, Don Gantz, Brahma Koodallur, and MCA President, David Simon. We greatly appreciate Ashlyn Edwards and our MCA newsletter editor, Elizabeth Hawks, taking wonderful photographs of the event. Ethan and Sarah Koch made sure that the ice pops were flowing in the park and the Williams Family handed out bottles of water and presented the awards to the winning dogs and their families. This day was truly a team effort and a great example of the importance of joining the Middleridge Civic Association so that we can continue to have fun and memorable events. We plan to hold the next Pet Parade in the spring of 2024 and don’t forget that all pets are invited!
