September Executive Board Meeting—September 14, 2017 at Mary Vander Maten’s home
Call to Order: 7:03pm
Members Present: Mike Torrey, Al Obuchowski, Sandy Obuchowski, Rick Jones, Catie Morales,
John Tedrick, Kim Nelson, Mary Vander Maten, and Tim Harazin
Review of Minutes: (Brad Koch not present), minutes from August meeting read by Tim Approved
Treasurer’s Report: John Tedrick
- checks sent for NNO expenses, but amusements billed credit card—double-charge fixed
- check from FCE on its way
- United Bank (acquired Cardinal Bank) no longer has bill-pay service—this makes accounting more time-consuming because it doesn’t automatically correlate with Quicken; early monthly reports may need occasional minor adjustments after checks clear
- we are meeting our goals for ad revenue
- $175 allocated for community yard sale
Membership Committee: Al and Sandy Obuchowski
- 378 current members; 264 members for 2018
- early bird drawing for two $25 gift cards

Other Committee Reports:
- Webmaster/Server Update—Kim Nelson and Joe Landry
–website working fine, no complaints; Joe still working on membership area
–how should web updates be handled?
- send updates to Kim webmaster@middleridgefx.com and CC Catie after meetings
–blog posts about events should include date at the top to sort events by date
–Kim needs FAQ info to post on web
–web/e-mail code of conduct (provided by Vernon Campbell)
- ask Joe to set up member log-in so code of conduct must appear when anyone signs up
- code of conduct will also be sent out through the e-mail exchange
- statement will be inserted at the bottom of e-mail exchange messages–“by utilizing this email exchange, you agree to follow our code of conduct”
- Welcoming—Carolyn Vaughan
–Carolyn sent report of new homes visited
–we should follow-up with new homes to remind them to become members
- Newsletter—Catie Morales
–it was agreed that past issues of newsletter should be posted only in member section
- Neighborhood Watch—Vernon Campbell
–schedule through December has been sent out
–materials are now at the end of his driveway for easier access
Continuing Business—Issues and Updates:
- Little Free Library—Catie Morales donated sign and dog leash hook—thanks!
Continuing Business—Upcoming Events:
- Community Yard Sale—Sep 23, 7am-1pm, POC: Erick Arraya
- Dumpster Day—Sep 30, 7am-12pm (or when full) POC: Rick Jones company–ESI
–needed–2 more volunteers from MCA and 4 volunteers from FCE
- Movie Night—Oct 7, 7pm at FCE pool parking Lot POC: Sarah Koch
- Feed the firefighters—Nov 11
–provided for Fairfax Station firefighters
- Halloween parade—Oct 28 POC: needed
–we need to get permit application processed soon
New Business:
- Shred event at St. Mary’s church–Oct 21
