MCA FFR Supports National Fire Prevention Week

The Middleridge Civic Association (MCA) hosted the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department for our last Feed the First Responders event of 2024 on Friday, Oct. 11th.

Our residents provided a fantastic spread of food and drinks for over 40 firefighters, emergency personnel, staff, and volunteers who work tirelessly in serving our community. The MCA also assisted their open house celebration in observation of National Fire Prevention Week by collecting donations for their public breakfast. Our donations were able to serve dinner to over 40 volunteers who prepared the station for the open house on Oct. 11th and breakfast to over 60 people who attended the open house on Oct. 12th.

Many thanks to all who donated food, drinks, time, or money: Robert Andreae, David Barry, Jr., Nancy Boriack, Mason Burks, Vernon Campbell, Herb & Sheila Champion, Andrea Dunn, Mary Sue France, Richard Fulton, Nicole Gonzalez, Matthew Horwatt, Brahma Koodallur, Leah Lewis, Mary Ann Magrare, Sarah Mayhew, Kristen McManus, Mark & Pamela Miller, Judy Mitros, Bambi Muños, Craig & JT Morris, Liz & Sam Nickless, Eileen Piwowar, Camille Pryor, David & Maryn Simon, Sherry Slawski, and Wendy Vandenberg. Your generosity made this event possible.

Setup volunteers Mason Burks, Craig & JT Morris, and Liz & Sam Nickless represented the MCA in thanking the volunteers for their service to Middleridge and our surrounding areas. They also received a tour of the station. The bounty fed the Burke Volunteers and their open house guests fabulous food prepared by our residents, Mission BBQ, and Safeway. Thank you, Middleridge, for your support of the Burke Volunteers!
