Reading of Minutes and Approval: July Board Meeting Minutes provided via email; minutes accepted as presented.

Income reviewed. Reserves used to reimburse lighting and letter boarding; paid liability insurance, landscaping, website, Welcoming Committee, newsletter; received notification of new owner for newsletter printing; updated treasurer report to show greater detail in year-to-date items; Feed the First Responders budget clarified; future budget modifications to be annotated with notes.

Motion: Accept Treasurer’s report. Vote: 4-0 to accept the report.

• Neighborhood Watch (NW) —Bill Pryor (for Jerry Reynolds)

Incident reported at Kipp Ct. and Zion Dr.; police resolved the issue. NW class requested with Officer Capizzi of the West Springfield District Police.

• Membership (578 total) —Al and Sandy Obuchowski

355 members for 2021; 73 for 2022; block captains should deliver completed membership forms to the Obuchowski home.

• Welcoming —Carolyn Vaughan

John Bayer relayed the report for Carolyn Vaughan. Two households were welcomed in July.

• Webmaster/Server Update —Joe Landry No report
• Publication (newsletter/web site) —Catie Morales

Website server had a brief interruption of service; July newsletter distributed.

• Entrance Sign enhancements —John Tedrick No report
• 50th Anniversary —Gretchen Bulova

50th anniversary time capsule logistics, burial location, and cost discussed; final research and proposal requested for August board meeting.

 

Events:

• Review of past and future events; dumpster day and movie night planning in progress; movie night date for Fall 2021 will be decided no later than August 30th; finalization for October Feed the First Responders

Unfinished/Old Business:

• Membership Drive canvass discussed.

Motion: Membership drive canvass to take place during September weekends. Canvass will consist of attempts to reach out to each home for neighborhood feedback and membership interest.

Vote: 4-0 in favor of motion.

 

New Business:

• Board discussed using a donated Zoom business account the Microsoft Teams account for online meetings; Board resolved to test Teams account for future usage.
• John Bayer will prepare a bylaw proposal re: fees for new households who join MCA mid-year.
