DESCRIPTION:Middleridge Civic Association \nAugust Meeting- August 3\, 2017 at David Simon’s Home \nCall to Order: 7:21 PM \nMembers Present: Mike Torrey\, David Simon\, Catie Morales\, Carolyn Vaughan\, Al Obuchowski \nReview of Minutes: Mike Torrey; Approved \nTreasurer’s Report: (Did not occur) \nMembership Committee: Al Obuchowski \n\nCurrently 377 members signed up\n157 signed up already for next year. This is about 50% of what is expected by the end of 2018\n\nOther Committee Reports: \n\nWelcoming -Carolyn Vaughan – gave an update on new neighbors welcomed over the past month\n\n6 new neighbors greeted\n7 houses either sold or rented\n4 houses pending\n9 listed for sale or other\n\n\nNewsletter – Catie Morales\n\nReceiving photos for the newsletter is an issue – people need to be more proactive in sending them in\n\n\nNeighborhood Watch\n\nOngoing – no known issues\n\n\n\nPast Events (Recap) \n\nTour of Homes & Gardens (July 8th)\n\nEvent was well attended\n\n\nNational Night Out\n\nA successful NNO with a high turnout\nRobinson apologized for not utilizing the provided grills and hope to be back and use them next year\nRobinson made a profit at the event\nIdeas for next year:\n\nIncreased Recycling- Very difficult without monitors to ensure trash is not included\nMay be able to use NNO as a vehicle to achieve needed numbers to rework the Association’s bylaws\n\n\nLessons Learned\n\nMore people are needed for cleanup\nStorage is becoming an issue in the U-Store for the Association\nLikely need an additional $100 added to the NNO budget- Likely went over this amount this year\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming Events: \n\nMovie Night\n\nFun Flicks Setup is ready to go\nCotton candy and popcorn information was sent (will need additional popcorn bags)\nFlier is in the newsletter\nThe Pool will be open and available\n\n\nYard Sale\n\nExpected to take place in late September followed by dumpster day one week later\n\n\nDumpster Day\n\nLooking to do 2 dumpsters as part of an agreement with the neighboring community\nLook to carry out the event over Saturday and Sunday\nThe Board hopes that closing the gates to the pool area will ensure that the dumpsters are not messed with overnight\n\n\nFeed the Firefighters in November\n\nWill be held Saturday November 11th\nThe Simon Family is volunteering to lead the effort\nThe budget is expected to be ~$100\n\n\n\nOther Business: \n\nMost frequently asked question for the website seems to be for the floor plans page\n\nPlace of Next Board Meeting: September 14th at either Mary’s or Caties’s house
