DESCRIPTION:Details\nWHO: Middleridge and Keys Crossing residents who are Middleridge Civic Association members (must have joined the 2023 Membership year before December 1\, 2022 and have been a member of the MCA during the 2022 Membership year – October 1\, 2021 to September. 30\, 2022). \nWHEN: Judging will occur on Saturday\, December 17\, 2022\, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Please have your light displays ready and lighted during these hours if you wish to participate in the judging contest. (Rain date will be Sunday\, December 18\, 2022). \nNOTE: Winners of an award from the previous two years are ineligible for this year’s awards but are encouraged to participate as judges for the contest this year. To volunteer as a judge\, contact Al at 703-352-1380 or alobuchowski@verizon.net. \nJudging Categories/Criteria \n01.\nWilliamsburg Award – Decorations are in the classic Williamsburg style. All lights must be white – no colored lights. May use candles\, evergreens (real or artificial)\, ribbons and fruit displays over doorways\, windows\, etc. Spotlights may be used to enhance the appearance of the evergreen or fruit displays. Figures are not included in this display category. \n02.\nTraditional Award – Lights can be any color\, any style and may frame the house\, and/or be draped over bushes\, trees or other parts of the yard and home. Figures\, like Santa\, snowman\, deer or other seasonal creatures may be used. Spotlights may be used to enhance the display. \n03.\nWattage Award – Consists of large\, extensive display of colored and/or white lights and figures (animated or not). Can include lights on the house\, roof\, trees\, bushes\, fences\, walkways\, basketball hoops or other yard features. It is all about volume\, with a touch of amazement. \n04.\nJudges Special Award – Awarded to a home that uses a unique technique to achieve a special decorative and/or festive holiday display. This may include styles or themes that do not quite fit any of the above categories or may be a mixture of several categories. \n05.\nGroup Award – Awarded to a group of three or more houses that are similarly decorated and that present a consistent look for the Holiday spirit. Any tasteful decorating style can be used. Each house will receive recognition. \nPrizes \nEach category will have one grand prize winner that will receive a lovely holiday gift\, compliments of the Middleridge Civic Association. Group Award winners remain eligible for individual awards. Winners will be notified the night of judging and a sign will be placed in the front yard of the winning homes. This information will also be posted at the main entrances to Middleridge as well as on the website and in the newsletter.

DESCRIPTION:Ready for a howlin’ good time? Join us for our annual Middleridge Halloween Parade and Party on Sunday\, October 30th at 4 pm. We will meet at the top of Broadwater Drive and James Halley Drive and walk down Broadwater to the Middleridge Park where we will enjoy candy\, popcorn\, drinks\, and games. DESCRIPTION:Middleridge residents support our first responders by providing meals to the West Springfield District Police\, the Station 32 Firefighters\, and the Burke Volunteer Firefighters. Our Feed the First Responders events held in March and June were a great success! Please consider donating to our last Feed the First Responders event of 2022 for the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. \n   Middleridge residents will be participating in the Open House season for the department. We will provide dinner to both the volunteer and career staff on Friday\, October 14th. We are also collecting donations for their Open House breakfast for Saturday\, October 15th. The MCA will supply the main dinner dish. We need your help to complete the wonderful meals for the Burke staff. You may donate to the dinner or breakfast by signing up for an item below. Please include in the sign-up comment what your donation will be. Due to COVID-19\, only store-bought or catered items have been requested. \n   Please be sure to include a valid email address for coordination purposes. Applications are accepted until April 1 for the MCA scholarship. \n   Also\, the board election will be held. There are three opening positions on the board: President\, Vice President\, and Treasurer. The only requirement to take office is to be an MCA member in good standing. DESCRIPTION:The Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is on Saturday April 9 between 2-4pm with a rain date of April 10.\n\nThere will be two routes\, a route for preschoolers and one for older kids.\n\n\n1. The preschool route which is completely walkable. It starts at the top of Middleridge park\, look for the balloons and you will find your first clue !\n\n2. For our older kids (elementary) we have a longer route throughout the neighborhood and it will start at the Little Library on Broadwater\, look for the balloons to find your first clue! \n\n\nBoth scavenger hunts will end at the tennis courts in the Middleridge Park and the kids will receive a sweet treat and maybe some sweet treats on the way 🙂\n\n\nFor any questions\, contact Sarah Koch sekoch77@yahoo.com
