DESCRIPTION:Middleridge residents support our first responders by providing meals to the West Springfield District Police\, the Station 32 Firefighters\, and the Burke Volunteer Firefighters. Our Feed the First Responders events held in March and June were a great success! Please consider donating to our last Feed the First Responders event of 2022 for the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. \n   Middleridge residents will be participating in the Open House season for the department. We will provide dinner to both the volunteer and career staff on Friday\, October 14th. We are also collecting donations for their Open House breakfast for Saturday\, October 15th. The MCA will supply the main dinner dish. We need your help to complete the wonderful meals for the Burke staff. You may donate to the dinner or breakfast by signing up for an item below. Please include in the sign-up comment what your donation will be. Due to COVID-19\, only store-bought or catered items have been requested. \n   Please be sure to include a valid email address for coordination purposes. Tim and his wife have will be moving south for a new adventure. I cannot express to you how much we will miss Tim’s enthusiastic leadership and willingness to always lend a hand. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, October 1st from 8AM until 12PM\, or until dumpsters are full\, Middleridge and Fairfax Club Estates are hosting our annual Dumpster and Donation Day. \nDrop off will be at the Fairfax Club Estates Pool parking lot off Snowy Owl Drive. \nOne week after the community yard sale (September 24th)\, many residents use this as an opportunity to “unload” unsold items  However\, unlike the yard sale\, this event is only for members of Middleridge Civic Association and residents of Fairfax Club Estates. \nThe DONATION option is from 8:30AM until 10:30AM.Please see the flyer on the next page for details. \nFinally\, we are always looking for folks to volunteer to support this event. DESCRIPTION:The Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is on Saturday April 9 between 2-4pm with a rain date of April 10.\n\nThere will be two routes\, a route for preschoolers and one for older kids.\n\n\n1. The preschool route which is completely walkable. It starts at the top of Middleridge park\, look for the balloons and you will find your first clue !\n\n2. DESCRIPTION:The spring parks\, stream\, and lake clean up will be on March 26 from 10 to noon. Meeting places include: the Governor Yeardley entrance to Middleridge Park and the Fireside Court entrance to Woodglen Lake Park. \n   RSVP your park preference to sarah.mayhew@yahoo.com or you can be assigned as needed. “Anyone who needs volunteer hours can absolutely receive a signature for helping\,” Mayhew noted. \n   Also on March 26th\, volunteers are needed to help clean up along the Sound Barrier next to Ox Road and along the creek by our common area near Broadwater Drive and Paynes Church Road. Efforts will entail cleaning up trash and conducting some basic vegetation maintenance of these areas to help improve the appearance of our community and the value of our homes. As MCA President John Bayer noted\, “Many hands make light and quick work!” \n   Please come and help our community remain beautiful.

DESCRIPTION:We are looking for ideas on restarting the Middleridge Civic Association (MCA) National Night Out (NNO) event on August 2nd\, 2022.   On Wednesday March 16th from 7-8 PM we will provide an overview of what NNO is about (from the National Organization) and then ask for any and all ideas on what we can do for the MCA event.  One hour only. \nNational Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer\, more caring places to live. \nMillions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states\, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.
