DESCRIPTION:November 13 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm \nMeet at Middleridge Park (opposite the intersection of Governor Yeardley Drive and Clara Barton Court) to clean up there and\ndown the stream to Woodglen Lake or meet at the cul-de-sac on Fireside Court for the Woodglen Lake Park Clean Up\, including\nareas below the dam and around Bonnie Brae Elementary School. \nSafety First! Masks are required at all times during this activity\, even though it is outside. In order to participate you will be\nasked to certify that you do not have symptoms of Covid-19 and that you have not been exposed to it. We will maintain appropriate distance between volunteers who are not part of the same family. To ensure sufficient supplies\, this year we ask that\nyou please RSVP. We are limiting participation to the first 20 volunteers at each site. \nDress for the weather and for working in the woods: long pants\, long sleeves\, and boots or shoes that you don’t mind getting\nmuddy. We have adult size gloves only\, so if you are bringing younger children\, please bring gloves that fit them. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. DESCRIPTION:Middleridge residents support our first responders by providing meals to the West Springfield District Police\, the Station 32 Firefighters\, and the Burke Volunteer Firefighters once a year. Our Feed the First Responders events held in March and June were a great success! Please consider donating to Feed the First Responders for the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department. Middleridge residents will serve dinner to the Burke Volunteer Firefighters on Monday\, October 4th. The MCA will supply the main Italian dish. We need your help to complete the wonderful meal for the Burke Volunteers. You may donate to the dinner by signing up for an item below. Please include in the sign-up comment what your donation will be. Due to COVID-19\, only store-bought or catered items have been requested.  Be sure to include a valid email address for coordination purposes. DESCRIPTION:Sign-Up Genious \nWith the long Memorial Day weekend upon us I wanted to remind you and ask for your support for the June 2nd MCA Feed the First Responders event for Fire Station 32. \nMiddleridge residents support our first responders by providing meals to the West Springfield District Police\, the Station 32 Firefighters\, and the Burke Volunteer Firefighters once a year.  \nPrior to Covid’s impact MCA would facilitate volunteer donations for Potluck Dinners.  We have restarted these events being mindful of Covid restrictions and are asking for your support. \nMarie Morris has put together excellent plans for these events.  In March many of you supported the event for the Springfield Police Department.  \nNow we are asking for your help for the next event\, Wednesday June 2nd\, that will support Station 32 Firefighters.   \nEven with the reduction in COVID-19 protocols\, only store-bought or catered items are allowed so Marie\, working with our Website technical expert (Joe Landry)\, has put in place a Sign Up Genius site and updated our MCA website Donation capability to support this and future similar events. \nMarie has included different items that you could Sign Up to provide\, and we are looking for some monetary donations to offset the limited budget we have for this event.   \nPlease go to the link below and let us know how you can support!

This is about 50% of what is expected by the end of 2018\n\nOther Committee Reports: \n\nWelcoming -Carolyn Vaughan – gave an update on new neighbors welcomed over the past month\n\n6 new neighbors greeted\n7 houses either sold or rented\n4 houses pending\n9 listed for sale or other\n\n\nNewsletter – Catie Morales\n\nReceiving photos for the newsletter is an issue – people need to be more proactive in sending them in\n\n\nNeighborhood Watch\n\nOngoing – no known issues\n\n\n\nPast Events (Recap) \n\nTour of Homes & Gardens (July 8th)\n\nEvent was well attended\n\n\nNational Night Out\n\nA successful NNO with a high turnout\nRobinson apologized for not utilizing the provided grills and hope to be back and use them next year\nRobinson made a profit at the event\nIdeas for next year:\n\nIncreased Recycling- Very difficult without monitors to ensure trash is not included\nMay be able to use NNO as a vehicle to achieve needed numbers to rework the Association’s bylaws\n\n\nLessons Learned\n\nMore people are needed for cleanup\nStorage is becoming an issue in the U-Store for the Association\nLikely need an additional $100 added to the NNO budget- Likely went over this amount this year\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming Events: \n\nMovie Night\n\nFun Flicks Setup is ready to go\nCotton candy and popcorn information was sent (will need additional popcorn bags)\nFlier is in the newsletter\nThe Pool will be open and available\n\n\nYard Sale\n\nExpected to take place in late September followed by dumpster day one week later\n\n\nDumpster Day\n\nLooking to do 2 dumpsters as part of an agreement with the neighboring community\nLook to carry out the event over Saturday and Sunday\nThe Board hopes that closing the gates to the pool area will ensure that the dumpsters are not messed with overnight\n\n\nFeed the Firefighters in November\n\nWill be held Saturday November 11th\nThe Simon Family is volunteering to lead the effort\nThe budget is expected to be ~$100\n\n\n\nOther Business: \n\nMost frequently asked question for the website seems to be for the floor plans page\n\nPlace of Next Board Meeting: September 14th at either Mary’s or Caties’s house

DESCRIPTION:Communities throughout Fairfax celebrate an Annual National Night Out\, the first Tuesday in August. The night\, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch\, promotes community partnerships with local police officers. The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness\, generate support and participation for anticrime programs\, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships\, and “send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back\,” according to www.nationalnightout.org. \nNeighborhoods around Fairfax typically celebrate outside with food and games for the children. It is an environment where neighbors can stop and get to know each other and their local police officers.
