SUMMARY:May MCA Election Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our bi-annual meeting will take place at 7pm on Thursday May 16th at the Fairfax City Library.\nWe will have a Zoom option\, but this will be using a laptop in the room\, so camera and sound will be best efforts.  \nWe will award the MCA Scholarships and celebrate the winner’s achievements with some cake/light desserts. \n  \nMCA is entirely volunteer-run\, fueled by community involvement and the $30 annual dues that support our activities. There is no management company\, no paid staff just neighbors contributing a small amount of time to keep things going. Right now\, we need at least three neighbors to step into Board roles by our May 14 meeting.  \nWhat Stepping In Looks Like:  \nSecretary (2–4 hours/month) Keeps meeting notes\, tracks attendance\, and helps manage basic communications. This role keeps everything organized behind the scenes. \nVice President (2–4 hours/month) Supports the President and serves as a connection point to broader community organizations like the Fairfax Federation and Braddock District Council. \nPresident (4–6 hours/month\, with some additional time around events) Helps guide MCA\, leads meetings\, and works alongside the Board to keep everything moving forward. \nA Flexible Commitment: These roles are not rigid or all-consuming. Board members can lean in more or less depending on their availability\, and often choose to take on projects that interest them.
