DESCRIPTION:Judging Categories/Criteria  \n01. Williamsburg Award – Decorations are in the classic Williamsburg style. All lights must be white – no colored lights. May use candles\, evergreens (real or artificial)\, ribbons and fruit displays over doorways\, windows\, etc. Spotlights may be used to enhance the appearance of the evergreen or fruit displays. Figures are not included in this display category.  \n02. Traditional Award – Lights can be any color\, any style and may frame the house\, and/or be draped over bushes\, trees or other parts of the yard and home. Figures\, like Santa\, snowman\, deer or other seasonal creatures may be used. Spotlights may be used to enhance the display.  \n03. Wattage Award – Consists of large\, extensive display of colored and/or white lights and figures (animated or not). Can include lights on the house\, roof\, trees\, bushes\, fences\, walkways\, basketball hoops or other yard features. It is all about volume\, with a touch of amazement.  \n04. Judges Special Award – Awarded to a home that uses a unique technique to achieve a special decorative and/or festive holiday display. This may include styles or themes that do not quite fit any of the above categories or may be a mixture of several categories.  \n05. Group Award – Awarded to a group of three or more houses that are similarly decorated and that present a consistent look for the Holiday spirit. Any tasteful decorating style can be used. Each house will receive recognition.

The personal interview will be conducted by the scholarship committee. SUMMARY:Valentines for Veterans
DESCRIPTION:When is the event? \nScouts will deliver valentines on Feb. 9th from 1-3pm. We ask that veterans who wish to receive their packages in person be available during this time.  \nAre there ways to help support VFV? \nNeighbors may help in many ways:  \n— help us to identify our veterans\n— make valentines\n— help prepare valentine bags for our veterans\n— loan the MCA a delivery wagon\n— donate items \nIdentifying our Veterans \nPlease email the name and address of a Middleridge veteran to mca.vfv@gmail.com. We consider our veterans to be anyone who has a history of service in the military (active duty\, reserve\, national guard\, or retired). \nMaking Valentines  \nThe scouts deliver packages to over 140 veterans. That is a lot of valentines! Please consider making valentines that contain a general message to a veteran. You can even use the template provided on the next page to make 4 quick valentines! Just color\, write a quick note\, cut\, and drop them off.  \nValentines should be dropped off in the container on the porch of 5423 Governor Yeardley Dr.by Feb. 5th.  \nGoodie Donations \nWe welcome wrapped candies or other wrapped goodies to distribute to our veterans. Donations should be dropped off to the container on the porch of 5423 Governor Yeardley Dr. by Feb. 7th. \nPrepare the Bags \nVolunteers to help prepare bags may sign up on the signup genius linked below for the bag-stuffing party on Friday\, Feb. 7\, 2025 from 6-8pm. \nLoan a Wagon \nWe need to borrow many wagons to deliver valentines. If you are able to loan the MCA a wagon\, then please sign up on the signup genius page linked below. \nScout Refreshments \nWe will also be collecting light refreshment donations for the scouts and their chaperones to enjoy after delivering the valentines. Please bring refreshment donations to 5423 Governor Yeardley Dr. by 1pm on Feb. 8th. \nScout Involvement  \nMiddleridge loves our scout support!
